Tapanappa

Brian Croser is one of Australia’s wine industry’s greatest servants and continues, not least by the ‘internationalism’ ideal, to advance Australia’s wine reputation. Driven by perfection and quality Brian was the driving force behind Petaluma and, with the new wines of Tapanappa, continues the development of his ‘distinguished sites’ vision. Brian’s reputation attracts attention however it was more than reputation that excited the Bollinger family and the Cazes family (from Chateau Lynch Bages in Bordeaux) to join Brian and his family as partners in this new venture. Brian’s enthusiasm and continued development of superb vineyard sites, married with classic winemaking skills, has ensured that these new wines are further advancing Australia’s reputation.

The Cabernet Sauvignon / Shiraz / Cabernet Franc and the Merlot are sourced from 34 year old vines from Wrattonbully, just north of Coonawarra. The superb Chardonnay comes from the heights of the Tiers Vineyard in the Piccadilly Valley and the exciting new Pinot Noir from a tiny 4 hectare vineyard in the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The new Pinot Noir is sourced from Parawa at the highest point of the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia's coolest viticultural site - ". . . Arguably the best (climatic) conditions of all in mainland South Australia for table wine production" - Dr John Gladstones.
