Ayala

Ayala was founded in 1860 by Edmond de Ayala. Such was their success they were invited as a foundation member of the exclusive Syndicat des Grandes Marques in 1882, an organisation restricted to the leading Houses. Using fruit from Grand and Premier Crus, Ayala has always offered consistency of style and quality. Long admired by the Bollinger family, Ayala was purchased in 2005 as a sister company to Bollinger.

Ayala’s wines share the same quality imperative as do Bollinger’s, however they are of a different style.

In its December 2006/January 2007 edition the prestigious and influential French magazine La Revue du Vin de France selected Ayala Brut Majeur as a “Grand Vin” and included this wine in their Top 5 multi-vintage blends to illustrate the different expressions in champagnes. Ayala Brut Majeur was selected as being both very much for the table as well as an aperitif.

Ayala has its own “Ayala Code” - their guarantee of quality. For astute customers the House offers a very exclusive “Zero Dosage” version of Brut Majeur and it was this “ZD” which was selected as “Best Sparkling Wine” by Stephen Spurrier in Decanter magazine March 2006.
